Reshape and enrich records
Map fields and Transform items
Builds a new record field by field in the Transform Studio, with a live preview.
Also listed in the library as Transform items; both open the same Transform Studio.

- Good for
- Matching the shape a destination expects
- Role
- Works on the records in a flow
- Find it in
- Nodes › Transform
When to use it
- The destination expects different field names, types or structure.
- Values must be combined or calculated, such as a full name or an order total.
- The result should be checked against one of your Data Models.
Reach for something else when
Set fieldsWhen you only change a few fields and keep everything else.CodeWhen the logic is too involved for field-by-field mapping.
Example
Turn a web shop order into a sales order: full_name from first and last name, total from quantity times unit price.
How it works
- Studio
- Source fields with type badges on the left; target fields with Type, Transform, Preview and Status on the right. Mirror input fields copies all fields as a start. Each target uses a mapper kind: Direct, Code (Rhai expression), TXL, Match, Value, Flow value, Env var or Node. The Formula bar and Functions menu insert common operations: Uppercase, Lowercase, Trim, Find & replace, First N characters, Length, Combine, Convert to number, Round, Math, If/else, Fallback when empty. Output contract checks the result against a Data Model. Live output previews the result with sample data.
- Output
- One record per input record, containing only the target fields. An empty mapping passes records through.
- Example
full_name=item.first_name + " " + item.last_name;total=item.qty * item.unit_price.
Add it to a flow
- Open the flow from Build › Workflows.
- Open Nodes and find Map fields and Transform items under Transform, or search for it. Click it or drag it onto the canvas.
- Drag from the previous step's output handle to its input, then open its settings with ✎ Edit.
- Run the flow and click the step to see the records it received and produced.
