When to use it

  • Orders should carry customer details that an earlier step fetched.
  • Codes should be translated with a reference list loaded in the same run.

Example

Load all customers once, then add each order's customer name and segment by matching customer_id.

How it works

Settings
Look up in (step); Match on (their field); Using (this record's field); Store the match as [match]; When no match (a default JSON value).
Output
Every record passes through with the first match (or the default) added. Keys are compared as text. A miss never drops the record.

Add it to a flow

  1. Open the flow from Build › Workflows.
  2. Open Nodes and find Lookup under Transform, or search for it. Click it or drag it onto the canvas.
  3. Drag from the previous step's output handle to its input, then open its settings with ✎ Edit.
  4. Run the flow and click the step to see the records it received and produced.
