Connect Apache Cassandra / ScyllaDB

  1. In Neblex open Connect › Connections and click New Connection.
  2. Search for Apache Cassandra / ScyllaDB and give the connection a clear name.
  3. Fill in the fields. Secret values are encrypted and never shown again.
  4. Click Test, then Create Connection.
If the system is only reachable inside your network, choose an On-Prem Worker under Test from and run the flow on that Worker. See On-Prem Workers.
FieldWhat to enter
Contact pointsRequiredOne or more nodes of the cluster, separated by commas, as host or host:port. The other nodes are found from these.Example: cass1.example.com, cass2.example.com:9042
PortOptionalThe CQL port for contact points that name no port. Leave empty for 9042.Example: 9042
Local datacenterOptionalSend requests only to the nodes of this datacenter, as the cluster's own clients do. Leave empty to use every datacenter.Example: dc1
Default keyspaceOptionalUsed for tables named without a keyspace in statements and table fields.
UsernameOptionalLeave empty for a cluster without password authentication.
PasswordOptionalSecret
Use TLSOptionalEncrypt the connection to every node. Turn off only for a cluster without client encryption.
Check the certificate nameOptionalRequire every node certificate to name the server name below. Turn off for clusters whose node certificates name each node differently; the certificate is still checked against the trusted authorities.
Server nameOptionalThe name the node certificates carry. Leave empty to use the first contact point.
Server CA certificate (PEM)OptionalOptional private certificate authority that signed the node certificates. Leave empty for publicly trusted certificates.
Client certificate (PEM)OptionalOnly for clusters that require client certificates; enter the private key below as well.
Client private key (PEM)OptionalSecret

Use it in a flow

  1. Open a flow, open the node library and search for Apache Cassandra / ScyllaDB.
  2. Drag it onto the canvas and choose an Operation and your connection.
  3. Map the operation's fields from earlier steps, or click Map with Matt.
  4. Use Test this step to see what it returns, then save.

To start a flow from Apache Cassandra / ScyllaDB without a ready-made trigger: a Poll for changes trigger on Apache Cassandra / ScyllaDB with your own query passes on new or changed records.

Operations

26 operations in 4 groups. Each one is a step you can add to a flow.

Cluster4
Get cluster informationclusterInfoReturn the cluster name, the coordinator node's version, datacenter, rack, partitioner and protocol versions.
List nodeslistNodesList the other nodes the coordinator knows, with their datacenter, rack, version and address.
List table size estimateslistSizeEstimatesReturn the coordinator's estimates of partition count and mean partition size for the token ranges of a table.
Test the connectionpingConnect to the cluster, log in and read the node's release version.
CQL4
Run a batchbatchRun the CQL write in the statement editor once for every input record, grouped into batches that stay within the cluster's batch size.
Run a queryqueryRun the CQL query in the statement editor with :name values bound from the input.
Run a query page by pagequeryPageRun the CQL query in the statement editor and return one page of rows with the paging state of the next page, for flows that page themselves.
Run a statementcommandRun the CQL INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, TRUNCATE or schema statement in the statement editor with :name values bound from the input.
Rows6
Delete a rowdeleteRowDelete the row with the primary key you map, or only some of its columns.
Empty a tabletruncateTableRemove every row of a table on every node.
Find rowsselectRowsRead the rows of a table whose columns equal the values you map, page by page until every matching row is read.
Get a rowgetRowRead the row with the primary key you map.
Insert a rowinsertRowWrite one row into a table from the column values you map.
Update a rowupdateRowChange columns of the row with the primary key you map.
Schema12
Create a keyspacecreateKeyspaceCreate a keyspace with its replication strategy.
Delete a keyspacedropKeyspaceDelete a keyspace with every table and its data.
Delete a tabledropTableDelete a table and its data.
Get schema definitiondescribeSchemaReturn the CQL statements that create a keyspace, a table, a type, a function or the whole schema, as the cluster describes them (Cassandra 4.0 or later, ScyllaDB 5.2 or later).
List aggregateslistAggregatesList the user-defined aggregates of a keyspace.
List functionslistFunctionsList the user-defined functions of a keyspace.
List indexeslistIndexesList the secondary indexes of a keyspace or of one table.
List keyspaceslistKeyspacesList keyspaces with their replication settings, read page by page.
List materialized viewslistMaterializedViewsList the materialized views of a keyspace with their base table.
List table columnslistColumnsList the columns of a table with their CQL type and whether they belong to the partition key, the clustering key or are regular columns.
List tableslistTablesList the tables of one keyspace or of every keyspace, read page by page.
List user-defined typeslistUserTypesList the user-defined types of a keyspace with their fields.
